Well, first know the cause of “backacne”. Blocked skin pores lead to back acne on back, upper arms and the buttocks.Excess oil or sebum causes clogged or blocked pores. So, get rid of excess oil secretion to avoid back acne.

Human back is more prone to acne due to more sebaceous glands that secrete sebum, than any other body part. Also the thick skin on back makes it more tough to treat. As all know stress make the sebaceous glands secrete fast, one should avoid this to get rid of back acne.As a result, most experts agree that rather than worry too much about the cause of acne, it is better to concentrate on its remedy. Here are some easy to use remedies for back acne.

Remedies for back acne:

Wash your back regularly to avoid or get rid of back acne. Use an antibacterial soap, and try to wash twice a day. Be careful, don’t wash too much as it can cause irritation or dryness. Try to take shower after any activity that causes sweating. Sweating can worsen the back acne.

Mix the paste of tender neem leaves with a pinch of turmeric powder and apply on the acnes. It is an effective home remedy for back acne. Also tomato pulp is also good for acnes. Apply ripe tomatoes pulp on acne and keep for 1 hour, then wash.

Exfoliation can help in getting rid of back acne. Exfoliate your skin weekly to avoid acne. Skin on our back is thicker than the skin on our face, so its safe to do this. Use good exfoliators for this. You may use different loofahs, washcloths and back brushes for this. But don’t exfoliate too hard as it may hurt your skin. If you use a scrub, try a sugar-based one rather than one with salt – this will be milder on your skin. Also, reduce the number of times you exfoliate if you notice any bad reactions.

Avoid rubbing your back against the bed when asleep. Try to sleep on your side. If you are used to sleeping on your back, initially you may find it difficult but with practice, it can be done.

It is recommended to use medicated creams to get rid of the back acne, such as benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Use one of these at a time as their mixing can cause negative reactions. If you use a benzyl peroxide (bp) product (some experts have found this to work better than salicylic acid), try to find one with 2.5% bp – this dose has been effective for many people. Wash your back and apply this for about ten minutes. Use twice a day. Be sure to allow time for drying, gels drugs can have a bleaching effect and damage clothing.

Keep your cloth clean to avoid back acne. Wash your towels, t-shirts, bra, bed sheets, pillowcases regularly to prevent back acne. Dirty stuff attracts bacteria, and bacteria is really good at starting back acne, so…laundry day might have to happen more often. If you’re like me, this can be a challenge. In this case, good luck. To avoid the risk of irritation, make sure to use hypoallergenic detergents and fabric softeners. If the condition worsens, consult to a dermatologist. Good luck!
